Format: Trailer
Year: 2015 TBC
Label: Roasted FilmsLooks like we have a low budget movie which is not trying to be anything but a B-Movie. Nothing wrong with that. Know your audience. B-Movie fans like low budget movies as long as they have some tasty ingredients. Low budget dramas and thrillers are all well and good, but some of us like a bit of bang for our buck. It looks like The Wrong Floor by The Hamill Bros. might deliver just that. The trailer features Gansters, Guns and Toxic Hobos! This looks awesome!
Title: The Silencer
Format: DVD
Year: 2007
Label: Cornerstone MediaIt's clear that the producers were aiming for a film in the tradition of the great 70s/80s B-Movie revenge flicks such as The Exterminator, Vigilante, Death Wish with a little Chuck Norris thrown in.... On this front they have succeeded.
The plot is simple, tried and tested, the action is well executed and the acting is pretty convincing for the most part.
For a seriously low budget production, the cinematography, sound work and sets are well thought out. There are inconsistencies but that's only to be expected.
The characters are well developed. Some are over acted but that is much more preferable to wooden performances.
The momentum builds throughout and it may seem a little slow in parts at the beginning but stick with it.
I thought the direction and editing was well above par.
Not a classic by any means, but a quirky low budget British revenge movie that actually works.
A job well done.
